Webinar: Reimagining American Identity (October 2023)

The Narrative Learning Community hosted a conversation on the role of narrative in shaping a more inclusive American identity. Angela Peoples, Co-Founder and CEO of The South, and Connie Razza, Executive Director of SEJ, joined Elaine Mejia of the Topos Partnership to explore insights from the new report, Belonging In and To America: Exploring Who We Are, to Reimagine Who We Can Be.

Elaine introduced key findings from a year-long research collaboration between Topos and the Bridge Project, which included in-depth ethnographic interviews and analysis of public narratives about national identity and belonging. Angela and Connie reflected on the research, discussed how it connects to on-the-ground work, and explored how these findings can inform future narrative and cultural strategies. Together, the speakers offered both insight and inspiration for those working to reimagine an America that truly includes all of us.
