Thank you for joining us on April 28th for the launch of the evolving toolkit: Narrative Power for Kids and Families: Rewriting the Story of the Economy. We’re grateful you took the time to engage with the research, explore new narrative approaches, and be part of this shared learning effort.
As discussed, this is a living body of work. We’re continuing to test and refine approaches that help shift how people understand what the economy is for, and who it should work for. Your insights, questions, and engagement are an important part of that process.
You can find more information, materials, and recordings from the launch event below:
Elaine Mejia, Executive Director of Think Big Alliance, provides an overview of the project.
Jamila Moon, Research Lead at Topos Partnership, provides an overview of the landscape mapping.
Julie Fisher-Rowe, Narrative Strategist with Think Big Alliance, walks through the living toolkit.
This toolkit is the result of Families at the Heart of the Economy: Shaping a Shared Narrative, a project of Think Big Alliance. It brings together advocates and communicators to explore new ways of talking about the economy that center kids, families, and people, asking a simple question: what is an economy for, anyway? Through real-world communications, participants test research-based narrative strategies that demonstrate that people drive the economy, and that when families thrive, the economy does too. Through shared learning and experimentation, the project generates practical insights to help shift dominant narratives toward shared responsibility, strong systems, and an economy that works for everyone.
