Community Conversation: Amplifying Community Voices for Lasting Change (January 2025)
In January 2025, the Think Big Narrative Learning Community came together to explore how state-level advocates in Alabama and Maine are weaving big-picture narratives into organizing, communications, and leadership development.
Ben Chin (Maine People’s Alliance), Anneshia Hardy (Alabama Values), and Chris Sanders (Alabama Arise) shared how their organizations are training and empowering local leaders to become trusted messengers and bold storytellers. From shifting cultural narratives in Maine to building grassroots power in Alabama, the conversation highlighted practical strategies for embedding narrative into long-term change efforts.
Attendees were encouraged to review two brief case studies spotlighting the work:
- Maine People’s Resource Center’s Worldview and Message Strategy Trainings: Discover how MPRC is amplifying trusted voices and shifting cultural narratives.
- Alabama Arise and Alabama Values’ Organizing, Advocacy, and Narrative-Building Trainings: Learn how these partner organizations are bringing community voices into the process and empowering them to lead on big ideas.
